課程概述 |
這門課將介紹政治人類學的基本概念與歷史發展，從古典的民族誌個案為基礎，從結構功能論開始，經過衝突論與過程論的挑戰，再逐步進入當代議題，特別是有關權力的性質與權力理論的議題。
政治人類學在1980年代以後，就逐漸在人類學的理論發展中褪色。來自馬克思主義、subaltern studies、Foucaultian、後殖民主義的挑戰，更讓「政治」能否自成領域遭受嚴重的質疑。這門課將檢討這些挑戰，以民族主義、國家等新起的理論議題為中心，探討人類學的政治研究應當如何重構，以及現在必須面臨的挑戰。

課程要求 |
這是一門以閱讀討論為主的專題課，修課同學需要閱讀當週的材料，前兩堂由同學輪流摘要報告，並帶領課堂討論。第三堂由我講課並總結。每堂課上課前，請先繳交閱讀材料之摘要2-3頁。摘要後，歡迎同學以他有興趣的領域或區域的材料為基礎，提供比較或批評的意見。
期中考採取take-home，期末請繳交報告一篇，題目可以是理論整理，個案分析或比較。必須在2000字以上(不包含書目)。請在第13週或之前，與我先討論報告題目。我不接受沒有事先確認可行的期末報告。
學期評分：上課討論20%，摘要20%，期中考20%，期末報告40%。
